As a third-generation submariner and after serving on fast attack submarines in the US Navy, Harley O’Neill continued on and into the international advanced maritime industry. In doing so, Mr. O’Neill developed a specialty in Noise & Vibration software and coating applications for many global Superyacht and Military shipbuilding communities. His coating formulations and specifications included decoupling underwater radiated noise and thermal dynamic solutions for which proved highly beneficial to Navies around the world. Since then, Mr. O’Neill has gone on to write as a Innovator and Futurist within a variety of technology publications. Most notably his industry commitments to new ideas grew into the gadget guy, “Q” from James Bond, with Monaco Yacht Show support, in his own technology reviews called, The MYS Q -Guide. While looking to change the entire way we think about our interactions with the sea, he has also become a leading pioneer in designing the first Superyacht Submersible. Funded through the Dutch government and studied by MARIN in the Netherlands, researchers coined a new draft off of his innovative advanced Superyacht submersible theories, called the Comfort Draft.
